I had a lovely experience at the resort with beautiful buildings and well-maintained grounds, reminiscent of Niagara on the Lake. The staff made my stay special, even going above and beyond during a 100th birthday celebration. However, I did encounter some issues with cleanliness in the dining area and dated rooms that could use some attention. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but there are areas for improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The room we stayed in was quite old and dated, with stains on the carpet and towels. While the decorations were charming, cleaner and more modern amenities would enhance the experience significantly.
Service

The service was excellent, particularly from Amanda, who helped us retrieve forgotten items. Despite the staffing challenges, the team was very responsive and attentive.

Dining was a highlight, with the food being absolutely amazing. However, it was concerning that the dining area wasn't as clean as I would expect from a resort at this caliber.
Facilities

The facilities are lovely, but the lack of staffing meant that some areas, like the Drinkwater Room, weren't as efficient as they could have been. The pools were fun for all ages, adding to the enjoyment.

Overall, my experience at The Briars Resort was mixed. On one hand, the staff, especially Dave and Beca, provided excellent service that really enhanced our stay. However, I found the accommodations lacking, especially for the price. The atmosphere was noisy at times, and some facilities felt outdated, which detracted from the overall experience.

Location
6.0
The hotel is situated in a beautiful area, but the layout made accessing our room awkward as we had to navigate through the dining area, which was loud and bustling.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a hit or miss; some dishes were disappointing while others, like the creme brulee, were exceptional. It was quite noisy in the dining room, which made it difficult to enjoy meals fully.
Facilities

Facilities seemed outdated and in need of renovations. The bar area felt cramped and was overwhelmed during dinner service.

Our stay was quite disappointing, marked by outdated decor and facilities that felt neglected. Although the dining experience was a highlight with a couple of great dishes, everything else fell short of our expectations, especially for a place that should offer a luxurious retreat. The lack of timely service and broken amenities made it clear that this resort needs significant improvement.

Rooms

The room we stayed in was old and had a creepy vibe, which was not what we expected. The lights weren't working initially, and the decor felt musty.
Service
5.0
Service was lacking; we faced long wait times for meals, and there was a general sense of disorganization.
Location

The location has potential, being close to dining areas, but it felt overly loud and chaotic, especially with events taking place during our visit.

We had a wonderful experience at the resort, filled with engaging activities and breathtaking scenery. The food was outstanding, and the staff, particularly the management, really made us feel valued. However, we encountered some issues with the cleanliness and communication regarding available onsite programs, which could be improved. Overall, it was a lovely stay where the positives certainly shone through.

Our stay at this resort was quite the mixed bag. While the rustic charm and spacious family rooms made for a cozy atmosphere, several amenities were out of order, which dampened our experience. The dining was enjoyable, though it could use improvement in breakfast options. Overall, it was a decent getaway, but not without its limitations.
